"Run for the Radishes" explores the sense of taste and smell. One can taste the radishes, because they are real radishes, and one can smell the strong earthy scent of the radishes. This piece is inspired by the traditional Jewish food of horseradish. The piece is a play on words. It's a horse, made of radishes. Horse-radish. The content is important because it shows humor, something that isn't shown much in art anymore. A lot of art pieces nowadays have to have some "deeper meaning" and I said, "screw that. I'm making a pun!" Also "Run for the Radishes" is in reference to "Run for the Roses", a popular name for the Kentucky Derby.
